Sustainable Resource Management

Effective management of natural resources – such as water, soil, marine life, and raw materials – is essential for environmental and community well-being. The Argosaronic, like many regions, is affected by plastic waste, overfishing and unsustainable land use that threaten biodiversity and local livelihoods.

At AEF we support initiatives to prevent marine litter and plastic pollution, promote recycling of used fishing gear, and engage local communities in clean-up efforts. We work with fishers to encourage sustainable practices, including managing invasive species through their consumption. On land, we back training and coaching for farms transitioning to regenerative methods that restore soil and ecosystem health. These actions collectively aim to protect the region’s natural resources while empowering communities to lead the shift toward sustainability.
