Thalassa Mana Concert: A Harmonious Blend of Art and Environmental Awareness
The Argosaronic Environment Foundation (AEF) is proud to have co-sponsored the inspiring “Thalassa Mana” concert, which took place in Poros, in September 28, 2024. This unique event, organized by Katheti and AKTAIA, with the support of the Rauch Foundation and numerous other sponsors, brought together music, art, and a powerful message about the protection of the vital marine ecosystems in the Argosaronic and beyond.
The evening began with the screening of “The Sanctuary of Poseidon” documentary, highlighting the destructive effects of unchecked fish farming. The concert followed, curated by the renowned lyricist Lina Nikolakopoulou, featuring moving performances by Thodoris Voutsikakis and Eleni Dimopoulou and supported by a talented ensemble of musicians.
Celebrating the sea, the event aimed to raise awareness about the imperative to shield marine life from growing environmental challenges. Lina Nikolakopoulou delivered a heartfelt message: “Saving our seas is a great task and tonight sets a gentle yet powerful tone for our concern for the waters of Poros, Methana, and beyond.”
The concert’s symbol, a drop, represented the strength of collective action, urging each individual to contribute to protecting marine resources for future generations. Receiving the award for her outstanding contribution to art and society, the artist added “I want to show the pure drop, the one we deserve. We have a right to beauty, to information, to common decisions.”
AEF is proud to have supported this impactful event that brought together partners, local municipalities, art and environmental advocacy for a shared purpose.
