Eco-Friendly Yachting: Collaborating for a Sustainable Argosaronic

Recently, we met with Christina Archer from Sustainable Sailing in Greece at Flisvos Marina to discuss ways to reduce the environmental impact of yachting in the Argosaronic. 

We visited charter companies, exploring opportunities for passenger awareness and crew training on sustainable practices. Additionally, we reviewed informational materials being developed to provide eco-friendly tips to sailors and discussed expanding our outreach to a wider audience. We also explored ways to better engage charter companies in mapping areas most affected by anchoring, which damages Posidonia seagrass meadows. 

Finally, a brief site visit to the marina allowed us to get an initial overview of the recycling facilities to support better sustainable boating practices. 

This collaboration is a key step toward more sustainable marine tourism, and we’re excited to see it grow!
