2025 Christmas Review

As we close 2025, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to our partners and local action groups, with whom we worked closely this year, turning the vision for the protection and restoration of the Argosaronic into practice.

People on the front line, acting with care for biodiversity and the region’s unique ecosystems, knowing that by protecting the environment, we also protect our health, our economy and our quality of life.

Thank you to:

• Aiginaia, for highlighting the partridges of Aegina as a living thread between past and present, nature and culture.

• Poros General High School, where students and teachers brought experiential learning to life by confidently stepping beyond the classroom.

• Enaleia, for responding directly to the needs of fishers, sharing first-aid practices and continuing the collection of fishing gear together with them.

• iSea, for diving into the seabed and documenting precious Posidonia seagrass meadows, providing critical scientific data for their protection.

• Katheti and the residents of Poros and the surrounding areas, who through collective effort are achieving meaningful victories for the protection of the marine environment.

• Spetses Nautical Club, for enriching its fleet with a kayak made from plastic collected from our seas.

• Hersonissos Methana Association – Active Citizens, for opening new pathways for action.

• SSG, for sharing sustainable navigation practices with the wider community of people of the sea

• SciCo, for bringing science closer to 10 schools across the Argosaronic, providing equipment and training to study microplastics.

• Vessel Studio, for connecting nature with History and Art and carrying this work all the way to the Biennale.

Finally, our partner organisations within the Greek Island Seagrass Alliance, an absolutely vital coalition for Posidonia seagrass which took its first steps in 2025 and promises exciting developments in the years ahead.
