First Aid Training in Spetses: Empowering Our Fishing Community

On February 19, we had the pleasure of taking part in a First Aid Workshop on the beautiful island of Spetses, organised by our long-standing partners at Enaleia. The workshop was designed specifically for fishermen from across the Argosaronic who also work as fishing tourism guides, welcoming guests aboard their boats to experience the magic of the sea. 

First Aid Certification, apart from a requirement, is a vital skill that can make all the difference in emergency situations at sea. Whether it’s a minor injury or a more serious incident, knowing how to respond quickly and effectively can literally save lives. 

The Hellenic Rescuers Team led the training, sharing their expertise with professionalism and commitment. More than just teaching techniques, they helped us understand the culture of First Aid — shaping the right mindset to stay calm, act fast, and always put safety first. 

At the heart of it all is a simple truth: Life is the most precious gift. Addressing the requests of the fishing community, we now have more trained individuals in the Argosaronic area, ready to protect not just themselves, but also those who join them on the water.
